MTO initiated a Planning and Preliminary Design Study for Highway 61 from Arthur Street to Loch Lomond Road. An Environmental Assessment (EA) Study is a mandatory requirement in the Province of Ontario for any proposed road improvement project that has the potential for environmental effects. Completing the EA ensures that all reasonable alternatives and the environmental effects are considered in determining the recommended improvements associated with the future project(s).
