EA Process
This study will be carried out under the requirements of the Class Environmental Assessment for Provincial Transportation Facilities (2000) for Group ‘B’ projects. For a Group ‘B’ Project, MTO is committed to carrying out public consultation throughout. Two Public Information Centres (PICs) have been held during the study, and a third PIC will be scheduled. The PICs will provide agencies, residents, members of the public and interest groups an opportunity to review, comment on and discuss the project with members of the project team. In addition, individual consultation will be held as necessary with relevant external agencies, municipal representatives, local community groups and business representatives.
The study will culminate in the preparation of a Transportation Environmental Study Report (TESR). Once complete, the TESR will be been made available for a 30 day public review and comment period. Notification of the submission of the TESR will be published in local newspapers and posted on this website. Should a member of the public feel that there are outstanding issues that have not been adequately addressed during the EA process, an opportunity exists for the public to object to the project through a Section 16 request to the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.
All comments received throughout the study, with the exception of personal information, will become part of the public record.
